Why Should I Take Private or Semi Private Diving Lessons?

We are a small and experienced group of PADI Instructors & Divemasters dedicated to exploring the pleasure, fun and excitement of Scuba Diving. We have been teaching diving for many years, both privately and in the retail recreational dive industry.

In our travels, we have found that dive shops will often have the maximum number of students allowed in their courses, or charge unrealistic prices for private classes. While we don't begrudge their desire to achieve maximum profitability from each class taught, we found that it limits the flexibility, scheduling and learning potential for the students.

Craig Oberlin Scuba InstructorWe run our courses a little differently. All are privately run in a one on one, or small group setting. This guarantees that you have the utmost attention and time from your Instructor and Divemaster, giving you the greatest opportunity to learn, have fun and most of all to improve your scuba skills.

All of our courses follow the standards set by PADI (Professional Association Of Diving Instructors) and are designed to fit your unique scheduling requirements. We do not believe in rushing through your course in two or three days. Classes run as long as you need them to. If you believe that you would benefit from a few extra dives, or an afternoon of theory, that is no problem for us, and usually no extra expense for you.We believe in quality training, not quantity.

To maximize scheduling flexibility, all theory is completed in your own time, with you using the course manuals and video in the comfort of your own home at your own schedule. Your Instructor is always available if you have questions and will review key areas with you. This means no long hours sitting in a classroom. Consistent with PADI's philosophy, we believe the best way to learn to dive is to dive!

Southern California represents some of the best diving in the world with a diverse environments. Great mainland shore diving compliments incredible boat and shore diving off the Channel Islands.

Whether you're new to SCUBA, a certified diver who has been away for a while, or an accomplished diver looking to expand your training, we can help. So just give us a call!
